PRESSURE DROP CHART
PRESSURE LOSS-[PSI]
APPLICATIONS
Steam, liquid or gas where filtration from debris in a pipeline Is required.
CONSTRUCTIONS
The Teleflo “Tee” Strainers are supplied with slipon, weld neck flange or butt weld connections. These “Tee” strainers are suitable for either horizontal or vertical (downward flow) piping. Free straining area is minimum 6 times pipe CS area.
FILTER ELEMENTS
Standard elements are 40 mesh stainless steel welded. Stiffeners made of rods form the skeleton of the filter elements. The mesh are spot welded with the stiffeners for maximum strength. Different size perforations and meshes are available in Stainless steel, , and brass to meet specific media requirements. Other materials of construction for filters can be provided on request.
OTHER FEATURES
Self cleaning of these strainers is accomplished by either opening the valve or drain plug connected to the blow off port or removing the cover and pulling out the element.
Bolted covers are standard. However quick closing hinged covers can also be provided.
TEE STRAINER
This pressure drop chart is based on the flow of clean water through 6 mesh (approx 1/8” hole size) perforations.
TO USE CHARTS
Find your desired rate of flow (GPM) on the right hand side of the chart. Follow its corresponding horizontal line to the point where it intersects the diagonal line indicating the strainer pipe size. From this point of intersection, follow the vertical line down to the bottom of the chart to determine the approximate pressure drop.
CORRECTION FACTOR
For finer mesh screens that are backed with a perforated sheet, multiply the pressure drops shown at left by the following :
- 40 mesh x 1.2
- 60 mesh x 1.4
- 80 mesh x 1.6
- 100 mesh x 1.7
